WHAT THE FUCK IS MY CORE DOING?

If you've been told to engage your core, brace, pull your belly button in, breathe properly or lift your pelvic floor but you're still not entirely sure what you're supposed to be doing — this workshop is for YOU!

Especially if you're leaking, experiencing prolapse symptoms or back pain, or you want to feel stronger and get more out of your movement/exercise!

Wednesday 9 September | 11:30am NZST | Live on Zoom
90 minutes | NZ$38 | Replay included

“Doing the Feet to Ribs class with Georgi was an incredible eye opener.”

“I have always felt very connected to my body, however throughout the class I was amazed to discover that the difference between my left and right sides was so much more pronounced than I even realised before… After the class I felt so much more balanced in general and the tension I had been carrying had completely dissipated from my body.”

Feedback from my previous Feet to Ribs workshop.

Maybe you’ve been trying really bloody hard to do the ‘right’ thing.

You’ve done the Kegels.

You’ve tried to remember to engage your core ('do I inhale and lift, exhale and lift??')

You’ve pulled your belly button in. Exhaled on effort. Tried to breathe into your belly. Tried to breathe into your ribs.

And perhaps you’re still leaking, still experiencing heaviness or prolapse symptoms, still getting back pain — or still wondering whether you’re doing any of it 'correctly'.

You don't need to try harder. You might need to understand what you’re actually doing and FEEL it in your unique body.

That’s what we’re going to explore in Ribs to Floor.

This workshop is for you if:

  • You’re leaking, experiencing prolapse symptoms or dealing with back pain and want to better understand how your core may be contributing.

  • You’ve been told to “engage your core” but you’re still not entirely sure what that means or what you should actually be feeling.

  • You’ve tried Kegels or core exercises but you’re still experiencing symptoms or wondering whether anything is changing.

  • You exercise or lift weights and want to understand how your core can support you more effectively while you move.

This isn’t 90 minutes of me talking at you.

There will be education, because I want you to understand what I’m talking about.

But more than anything, I want you to experience it.

I don’t want you to listen to me talk about your core and pelvic floor for 90 minutes and then have to go away and figure out what any of it means in your own body.

I want you to feel it.

We’ll explore what you currently do when you need support and look at the relationship between your breath, ribs, abdominal muscles and pelvic floor, how pressure is managed inside your body, and why all of this matters when you move and exercise.

We’ll also look at some common core cheats so you can start to recognise when the strategy you’re using might not be the most optimal one for what you’re asking your body to do — and what you can change.

And then we’ll move.

Because your core and pelvic floor don’t exist in isolation. Tightness, weakness or a lack of mobility elsewhere in your body can all affect how well your core and pelvic floor are able to respond.

You’ll leave with a better understanding of:

What your core actually is — beyond being told to “engage it.”

What YOU currently do when you need support — do you brace, grip, hold your breath, bear down or pull everything in?

How your breath, ribs, abdominal muscles and pelvic floor work together.

How pressure is managed inside your body and why that matters if you’re experiencing leaking, prolapse symptoms or back pain.

What you can start changing to help your core work more effectively when you move and exercise.

My hope is that you leave thinking:

OH. THAT’S WHAT YOU MEAN.

And, ideally:

OH. THAT’S WHAT I’M DOING.

Kia ora, I’m Georgi.

I’m a movement educator and I’ve spent the last 11 years teaching people about movement, core and pelvic health.

I’ve also experienced leaking and prolapse myself, so this isn’t something I only understand from a textbook.

I love making complicated anatomy make sense in an actual human body, and there are few things I enjoy more than watching someone have an “OH! THAT’S what you mean” moment.

I’m hoping there will be quite a few of those in this workshop.

Can’t make it live?

You’ll get the recording.

Come live if you can — you’ll be able to move with me and ask questions in real time — but if the time doesn’t work for you, you won’t miss out.

“After missing the live due to a meeting running over I’m so grateful to have the video to come back to! I think it will become a weekly ‘me time’ on my day off!”

And from another Feet to Ribs participant:

“Loved the class Georgi! … Thank you for an excellent tool that I can come back to again and again!”

You don’t need to be fit, flexible or symptom-free.

You don’t need to have done any of my courses before.

You just need some space to move and a bit of curiosity about what the fuck your core is actually doing.
